Abilene Sports Medicine is fully equipped with state-of-the-art imaging equipment to aid in diagnosing musculoskeletal problems. Diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans are needed to design a custom treatment plan. The sooner we get the imaging results, the sooner we can begin treatment. So, having X-rays and other imaging capabilities on site is a major benefit for our patients.

Common types of diagnostic imaging using in orthopedics includes:

• Digital X-ray – the first step in evaluating fractures, undiagnosed pain, and joint problems
• MRI – useful for soft tissue injuries, like a torn ligament or tendon
• CT scan – provides a 3D image of your bones and soft tissues
• Bone density scan – used for diagnosing osteoporosis
